The island is dominated by rocks, low spiny vegetation and sparse tree growth. Darwin's finches, Galapagos doves, vermilion flycatchers, Galapagos snakes, and their own species of lava lizard and giant tortoise are common sights.
Mosquera Islet is a san and rock place in the channel between Seymour and Baltra islands, and is a popular gathering site for sea lions.
