Puerto Ayora is an Ecuadorian city, cantonal head of the Santa Cruz Canton, as well as the largest and most populated city in the Province of Galapagos.
It is one of the most famous Galapagos Islands in the world, because for approximately 30 years, a couple of scientists from Princeton University (The Grants) have constantly come to study birds, especially finches.
Santa Fe offers one of the most beautiful and protected coves on the islands. Its turquoise lagoon is protected by a peninsula of small islets forming an ideal anchorage.

North Seymour Island is 1.9 sq. km (1.17 sq. mi) and it is one of the best sites for marine birds in the whole Archipelago. It is situated approximately 7 km (3.89 mi) north of Baltra Island (where the airport is located) and not far from Santa Cruz.
On the outer southern east corner of the archipelago is situated the birds and oldest (about 4,5 million years old) island. Española is probably home of the ancestors of the species that now populate other islands.
